This is less than 4 hours before Zoe was born. Lyn had to be induced so it was strange heading to the hospital in such a relaxed state.

Our doctor said it was good that Lyn was induced otherwise she probably would have had the baby in the car! It was that fast! Here is what happened...
Lyn was induced on Saturday, September 5th. A midwife broke her water at 5pm and started her on a low dose of Pitocin. Lyn was really hoping to go natural but was getting close to her pain limit at 6:30 pm and was only at 5 cm. She decided to get the epidural but had the sudden urge to push before they could get one into her. We could see the baby's head but there wasn't a doctor in the room with us (we hadn't even seen him yet because he wasn't on call until 7 pm). Dave ran into the hall and grabbed our doctor who had arrived early that evening (thank goodness). Zoe's head came out with the next push but the cord was around her neck so Lyn had to stop pushing. Finally with one last push Zoe arrived at 6:43pm.
Pretty exciting stuff!
