Oregon Trip

It was the afternoon of Christmas and all through the airport not a creature was stirring except for our child. Okay, not really! On Christmas Day Dave, Colin and I set out for Portland, Oregon. Colin had his first plane flight and did very well. He didn't sleep through it but at least he didn't scream through it (we would have had to buy a lot of drinks if that happened...for us and the other passengers)!
Colin enjoyed seeing family and friends but there were a few bumps along the way...he was constipated for 6 days straight! Dave and I have never cheered louder for poop AND he got his first tooth (he was fussy for a few days and we still don't know if it was due to the tooth or the need to poop). Ahh, parenthood!

Here is a nervous daddy before his son's first flight.

Our first stop was at my friend Jenn's mom's house in Corvallis. Jenn and her hubby Todd live in Bath, England now so it was lucky that we were in town at the same time!

Also, we visited with my mom and her husband Merle.

You can tell that Colin is a bit sleepy in this picture. Meeting new relatives and friends as well as traveling can be quite exhausting!

Colin met his grandpa and uncles on my side of the family for the first time.

Yes, we are in a pub/restaurant. Nothin' like getting the kid started early.

Colin had a good laugh with grandpa.

During some down time in our hotel room in Corvallis, I got a crazy idea...
ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE?!!!!!
(video coming soon)

Colin met his Aunt Maddy and Great Grandma in Portland.

He really enjoyed staying at Grandpa and Mimi's house.

He even got to cuddle with their new puppy Izzy.

We visited our friend Ryan and his wife Shawna. They are expecting twins! Dave and Ryan both tried to give Colin some apple juice via the bottle to help him poop (he is really a boob man as you can tell from the pictures).

Dave, Colin and I went hiking in Forest Park.
We had rain, snow, hail, and sunshine all in one short hike. Crazy!

Colin got his first tooth the day before he turned 5 months old. Here are my attempts to photograph Colin's tooth (it's his bottom right).

Ahh, back at the airport and very ready to return home.
Traveling is much tougher with a baby!

P.S. If you have been looking for a Christmas email that was promised in the last blog entry well you'd better stop looking. We never got to it. There is just not enough time in the day...
maybe next year. Ha, ha.
